Notes on traffic restrictions

Dear citizens, dear runners,

on Sunday, October 31, 2021, the 7th edition of the "Half MarathonLeipzig" will take place in Leipzig. The start and finish area is located in front of the Monument to the Battle of Nations Leipzig. The visit of the Monument of the Battle of Nations is unrestricted. For the half marathon, the running course runs along Prager Strasse from the Monument to the Battle of the Nations out of town to Chemnitzer Strasse in the direction of Wachau, and from there to Markkleeberger See. The second part of the route runs from Auenhain to Wachau, then towards Güldengossa and Liebertwolkwitz, before returning via Chemnitzer Straße and Prager Straße (out of town) to the Alte Messe and then to the finish in front of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal. Therefore, there will be traffic restrictions for driving traffic on the running route in these areas.

The following areas are affected by closures:

• outbound lane: Prager Straße from the intersection An der Tabaksmühle to Chemnitzer Straße Full closure 07:00 to 13:30
• Leinestraße in the Wachau area
• Nordstraße and Apelsteinallee in the Wachau industrial park
• An der Hohle, August-Bebel-Siedlung, Markkleeberger Straße, Crostewitzer Straße in Wachau
• Upper shore circular path Markkleeberger See
• Auenhainer Allee, Bornaer Chaussee in Auenhain
• Güldengossaer Straße, Bornaer Straße in Liebertwolkwitz
• Gortschakoffweg, Osten-Sacken-Weg, Zolaweg, Jutta-Hipp-Weg, Schwarzenbergweg in Leipzig
• Street Alte Messe on the "Old Fair" Leipzig

The starting signal will be given at 10:00 a.m., as soon as the runners have completed the various sections of the course, we will immediately lift the road closure there in each case. In the map you can see the run times for 5km, 10km, 15km and 20km.

Please note that the closure of the running track will be set up already in sections from 06:00.

For safety reasons and to ensure the passage widths, it is necessary to keep the roads along the competition route clear from 06:00 on October 31, 2021. Please observe the respective no-stopping zones. We ask you to use the signposted detours. If you as a resident are directly affected by the closures and need to use your vehicle on the day of the event, please park it outside the course.
