Arrival by car:
You can reach the event area "FERROPOLIS - City of Iron" the fastest via the A9 exit 10 Dessau-Ost and following the B107 direction Graifenhainichen.
Arrival by train:
The fastest way to reach the "FERROPOLIS - City of Iron" event site is to take the S2 train from Leipzig main station in the direction of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. From the destination station Gräfenhainichen it is about 4km to the event area. Due to the track closure, unfortunately no shuttle buses can run.

Whether there is an obligation to wear the wetsuit will be decided by the main judge of the DTU on the morning of the competition day. We recommend all participants to have a wetsuit due to the current weather conditions.
Helmets are compulsory on the bike course! The following is NOT allowed on the bike course for safety reasons:
The event area is barrier-free accessible. On the entire course and especially in the start/finish area, the course crossings will be manned by stewards so that it is possible to cross the course here.
We offer you the possibility of camping or camping on the site. Directly near the start/finish or Wechselgarten you can stay overnight in the neuseenMAN camp. The booking is possible HERE. Please note that the campground is operated directly by FERROPOLIS GmbH, specific questions should be directed to the location - www.ferropolis.de.

There will be an elite starting field for the women and men over the half distance. All triathletes with a pro license are eligible to start. The organizer reserves the right to allow ambitious athletes without a pro license to start with a wild card for the elite field. Elite athletes will receive a free start.

The results will be published on the website on the day of the event. During the event, they will also be displayed live on the LED walls.

It is pointed out that photographs and/or videos will be taken at the venue and may be published for the purpose of documenting and promoting the event. By registering/participating in the event, I acknowledge that photographs and video footage of me will be used for press coverage and published in various (social) media, publications and on websites of the organizer.
The entire event day will be accompanied by the sports photographers. You can purchase the photos afterwards.
During the opening hours of the registration office you can also drop off your stuff that you don't need for the race for free.

The collection of the starting documents must take place at the latest 30min before the start.
Late entries at the appropriate rate are still possible on the event weekend. A fee of 10,- Euro will be charged at the registration office for changing the course and registering a substitute participant. Attention: on site only cash payment possible.
Route changes/registrations for substitute starters are only possible in advance until 12.05.24.

On Saturday, 01.06.2024 (Sprint & Olympic), access to the parking lots P2 to P5 on the Ferropolis peninsula is possible without restrictions until 10.30 am. Please note that departure from these parking lots will only be possible after the full closure of all competitions from approx. 4.00 pm.
On Sunday, 02.06.2024 (half distance) the access to the parking lots P2 to P5 on the Ferropolis peninsula is possible without restrictions until 9.30 am. Please note that departure from these parking lots will only be possible after the full closure of the competition from approx. 3.00 pm.
The parking lot P1 is located directly in front of the entrance on the B107 (access Ferropolis). From this parking lot the arrival and departure is possible at any time.
Please note that from here you have to plan a walk of 2.5km to the event area (shuttle service with buses or similar is not possible due to the full closure).
Please note that a one-time 10€ parking fee will be charged for the parking lots P2-P5. This fee is valid for the whole event weekend. We ask you to have the 10€ ready in the bar upon arrival.
P1 is free of charge.
The event is based on the competition rules of the German Triathlon Union (sport rules, organizer rules, federal league rules, anti-doping code, referee rules), as well as legal and procedural rules. Click here for the rules

The sport regulations also clearly define the influence of water temperature on the equipment during swimming.
We are moving with our event in the public space. And although we do not affect the public road traffic, day tourists and residents may be on the adjacent bike and hiking trails. Even if the residents have been informed about the event and stewards have been positioned at the most critical points, we ask you to show consideration and to refrain from dangerous driving maneuvers. The instructions of the security personnel must be followed in any case.
Helmets are compulsory for every participant! Prerequisite for participation is a technically fully intact, two-wheeled bicycle.
We also ask you not to throw any trash, such as drinking cups, gel or bar wrappers into the environment. If you are caught doing this, you will be given a one-minute time penalty.
The award ceremonies will take place according to the schedule. The best three women, men and teams will be honored. In addition, the best age group (men and women separately) will be honored.
In addition, each starter will receive a certificate, a high-quality finisher medal and a starter bag.
The start numbers will be issued at the registration office on the event site during the weekend. A change and passing on of the start number will lead to disqualification.

Swimming distance (1 lap: 750m, 1 lap half: 950m)
- in sprint the course has to be completed 1x
- in Olympic distance the course has to be completed 2x
- in half distance the course has to be completed 2x (per lap 950m)
- course is funnel-shaped
- there are two buoys which have to be passed counterclockwise
Whether the wearing of a wetsuit is allowed depends on the water temperature of the Gremminer lake. The decision will be announced by a referee one hour before the start on the day of the competition according to the DTU sports regulations.
Bike course (20km // 30km half)
The bike course leads from the transition area, which is located in the FERROPOLIS arena, from the peninsula into the district of Wittenberg. According to the respective competitions, the participants have to master the following bike routes:
Sprint distance: 20km lap with turnaround in Oranienbaum, to be completed once
Olympic distance: 20km lap with turnaround in Oranienbaum, to be completed twice
Half distance: 30km loop through the villages of Oranienbaum, Schleesen, Radis and Gräfenhainichen, to be completed three times
Some long straights offer the possibility to pick up speed.
The slipstream ban according to the sport regulations of the DTU must be observed.
Running track (5km)
The race will be run on a 5km circuit along the beautiful lakeshore at Gremminer See.

To be included in the team ranking, at least three of you must register under the same team name. Only the best three in the team will be scored.

There will be plenty of toilets available at the FERROPOLIS event site. There is a toilet facility at about
halfway along the running course, depending on the competition you will pass it once or several times.
Each participant will receive a certificate. He can have this printed out on site or print it out himself.
The transfer of the starting place to the following year is only possible once up to 14 days before the event for understandable reasons. The transfer for health reasons is also possible at short notice, but only with presentation of a medical certificate. In addition, a handling fee of 10€ will be charged.

Should the event be changed or cancelled due to force majeure, weather conditions, official orders, safety risks or other reasons, the participant has no right to a refund of the entry fees or to compensation for other material damages, in particular travel or hotel costs. This does not apply if the organizer is responsible for the cancellation or change of the event due to intent or gross negligence. If the event is cancelled for the reasons mentioned above, the organizer will name a replacement date. All purchased tickets remain valid.

At the check-out the transponder must be returned. For your safety and for the safety of your equipment, only participants and official members of the organization are allowed to enter the transition area. Your backpacks or other things you do not need during the race have to be left in the checkroom before the race. Only the competition equipment and everything else you store in the provided box will remain in the changing garden.

There will be an additional elite starting field at the half distance with extra starting wave and prize money for places 1-3.
