Velero is title sponsor of the "neuseen classics" cycling event in 2023

Velero is the title sponsor of the cycling event "neuseen classics" in and around Leipzig in 2023 and initiates the "German real estate championship

Leipzig/Berlin, October 28, 2022 - The construction boom of recent years in Leipzig, Saxony's most populous city, is getting its sporting equivalent, at least in name: The residential real estate portfolio holder Velero is now the title sponsor of the traditional everyman cycling event "neuseen classics" in and around Germany's eighth-largest metropolis. New sponsor Velero would like to launch the "German Real Estate Championship" in the coming year. The long-time organizer, Leipzig-based sports event promoter maximalPULS, has set itself the goal of making the competition, which is held on public roads, one of the most important events of its kind for semi-professionals, amateurs and recreational athletes together with its partner Velero.

Thomas Lange, Co-CEO at Velero, explains the real estate company's motivation for sponsoring the "neuseen classics": "A whole bunch of reasons come together. We have strong ties to the city of Leipzig and Central Germany simply because of our large housing stock. In addition, we are strongly committed to the topic of mass sports and, last but not least, I am an enthusiastic cyclist myself. The very good discussions with Ronny Winkler from maximalPULS quickly showed that we were on the same wavelength.

Ronny Winkler, Managing Director at maximalPULS, adds: "Leipzig has experienced an enormous construction boom in recent years, which is still continuing and is a clear sign of the growing importance of our city. What could be more natural than to enter into a partnership with a real estate company that is associated with the city. The 'neuseen classics' already have a high standing in the German popular sports landscape. I am sure that the 'German Real Estate Championship' will give it another boost. Together with Velero, we want to develop the race into a beacon event of nationwide relevance."

The idea of holding the "German Real Estate Championship" at the same time as the "neuseen classics" came about during the joint deliberations of the organizer and sponsor: "Many colleagues in the real estate industry share my passion. So it made sense to create a real sporting incentive and launch this new competition," adds Thomas Lange.

The major event "neuseen classics" is part of the "German Cycling Cup", the largest everyman race series in Germany. Traditionally, semi-professional teams as well as hobby and recreational athletes take part in the race, which takes place on public roads that are specially closed for the event. The routes of varying lengths - from 60 to 100 kilometers to the 212-kilometer cycling marathon - lead through Leipzig and along the city's periphery and offer plenty of history and plenty for the eye with route points such as the Old Leipzig Trade Fair, the various lakes of the scenic Leipzig Neuseenland, and the venerable Monument to the Battle of the Nations. Even the youngest are catered for, who can gain their first competitive experience in races arranged especially for them. The "neuseen classics" have their roots in the fifties of the last century and were revived in 2004. Since then, the event has developed into a classic of the Everyman sport.

The "neuseen classics" will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2023. In the past, more than 2,000 participants and tens of thousands of spectators have made the event a magnet for all sports enthusiasts, from which the entire region, but above all the gastronomy and hotel industry, have benefited. It is the declared goal of the organizer and the new title sponsor to further expand this significance.
